The program was initiated ten years ago by the renowned Croatian weekly Nacional, bringing together then economic leaders and leaders from the academic community at the signing of an agreement on the establishment of a scholarship fund. Since then, student excellence, know-how, hard work and quality education at Croatian universities is awarded and encouraged every year.
The first companies which partook in the awarding of the 20 best students, i.e. five of them, which INA, as a traditional leader in corporate social responsibility, joined a couple of years later, appropriated funds for the highest scholarship in Croatia. The top scholarship amounts to HRK 40,000 and selection criteria are scores and excellence. Since the program was launched, the number of companies participating in the program and thus also the scholarship fund have grown significantly, i.e. to as much as HRK 1.2 million. Apart from this, the scholarship is awarded to the 32 best students today.
INA sees its role in this program in the promotion of its own socially responsible role and in the fact that it bases its development on scientific achievements, the education of its employees, exceptional work potential and modern technologies. Hence INA recognizes the “Top Scholarship for Top Students” program as a real possibility to change the quality of life because young people are given the chance to reach professional highs, success and satisfaction in their homeland.
