Zagreb, May 15, 2024 – A panel of experts has selected 14 green projects that will receive co-financing totalling EUR 65,000 as part of the 12th edition of the INA Green Belt program. This year’s call for proposals received 104 applications, and the competition was open from April 4 to May 5.
Special focus in this year’s Green Belt was placed on urban areas, where the need for green spaces is greatest, as well as on youth education, community empowerment, and innovative approaches to sustainability.
The selected projects are:
- Grohote Primary School, Šolta – Stone Trails: A project to build dry-stone benches and walls
- Association “Obala naših unuka” – Blue Bag
- Ludbreg Secondary School – EduPlod
- Volunteer Fire Department Ćićarija, Lanišće – Restoration and landscaping of the “Vroćok” pond in Podgaće
- Beekeeping Association Sladun Kutjevo – Kutjevo-Nectar City
- Mountaineering and Ecological Association Stribor – Stribor’s Blue Wave
- Fran Galović High School, Koprivnica – ECOzDravaINA
- Friends of Novigrad na Dobri “Frankopan” Society – Novigrad Green Walkway
- Sonda Association for the Promotion of Creativity, Education, and Local Community Development – Be a SeaStar Hero
- Association for Persons with Disabilities and Children with Developmental Difficulties Sveta Nedelja “Kameleon” – Green Oasis
- Viktorovac Secondary School – Mini Botanical Garden of Viktorovac
- Lonjsko Polje Nature Park Public Institution – Children’s Play in the Bird Oasis
- Croatian Association of the Blind – Go Green for a Better Tomorrow
- Velika Pisanica Primary School – Earth, Sun, Plate
Since 2014, INA’s Green Belt program has co-financed nearly 165 projects across Croatia, with a total value exceeding EUR 485,000. Through the initiative, over 25,000 trees, flowers, and shrubs have been planted in public and school areas, and more than 400,000 square meters of land have been greened – an area larger than 56 football fields.
