INA’s Volunteers’ Club

On the occasion of celebrating the European Year of Volunteering in 2011, INA initiated the Employee Corporate Volunteer Work Project. The INA Volunteers Club was established with the goal of voluntary investment of free time, effort, knowledge and skills for public benefit. The Club today has 1,400 members, the number which is increasing every year.

The INA Volunteers Club put in a total of 40,000 hours of corporate volunteering in almost all areas of Croatia, whereby they helped children, the elderly and powerless, socially vulnerable, generally everyone in need of assistance. On their own or as part of joint actions, they implemented numerous ecological actions including the clean-up of the sea bed, afforestation, landscaping, recovery of deteriorated areas.

For their efforts they received three awards from the Volunteer Centre Osijek, for the contribution of the business sector to the development of volunteering in the areas of Slavonia and Baranjain 2010 and 2012, as well as a Special Recognition for the contribution of the business sector to the development of volunteering, in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

INA signed the Charter on the recognition of competences acquired through volunteering

On September 4, 2015, along with another twenty companies, associations and educational institutions, INA signed the Charter on the recognition of competences acquired through volunteering. Presentation and signing of the Charter was organized by the Croatian Youth Network, Volunteer Zagreb Center and University of Rijeka, in partnership with the Croatian Employers’ Association.

The goal of the Charter is to encourage employers and the education sector to recognize and validate competences acquired through volunteering. In this way, standards and good practice that are based on the recognition of the importance of volunteering and benefits for individuals, organizations, communities and the entire society, are adopted in employment, professional development and advancement in the workplace.

By signing the Charter, INA has expressed readiness to develop good practices in the evaluation of volunteering in the employment process and also in professional advancement, as well as through the encouragement and evaluation of volunteer efforts of its employees.
