INA installed new coke chambers in Sisak Refinery

    • New coke chambers to increase safety of production units
    • Investment worth over HRK 30 million in Sisak Refinery

Zagreb, 16 April 2014 – In the past two days installation of new coke chambers was carried out at the Coking plant at Sisak Oil Refinery. This investment, worth HRK 31 million, will increase the safety of production units, while the completion of the works, which includes the installation of accompanying constructions and equipment, is scheduled for June this year.
In addition to increasing the safety of operations at the plant, the replacement of coke chambers additionally reduced risks related to health, safety and the environment protection. Installation of the new chambers was preceded by uninstallation of accompanying equipment and old coke chambers, and renovation of existing concrete construction and chamber’s dockings.
Replacement of coke chambers is another in a series of projects designed to increase health, safety and the environment standards and improve efficiency in Sisak Oil Refinery. Another ongoing project, in this regard, is closing of the Blow down system, which would enable additional decrease of hydrogen sulfide emissions and improve overall production processes. We can also mention that since midyear 2013 Sisak Refinery has the ability of producing diesel fuel with a bio component, while in September a system of additional wastewater treatment was put into operation, called KROFTA.
Over the past few years, INA has invested more than HRK 1 billion in the Sisak Oil Refinery, thanks to which new processing units were built in order to provide modern standards of crude oil refining and production of motor fuels in line with Croatian and European conditions.
