INA was the main sponsor of the Fiumanka

Zagreb, 17 June – Last weekend in Rijeka 14th Fiumanka regatta was held. INA was the main sponsor of the Regatta supporting this event for the fifth consecutive year.

This years’ Fiumanka, which was completely dedicated to celebrating the forthcoming Croatian accession to the European Union, began on Thursday, 13 June with Liburnia race, which was sailed on the route Mali Losinj-Rijeka. Fiumanka was continued with first Europe’s media and Rotary regatta, which had a humanitarian character. Final event was, of course, Big Fiumanka, which was held on Saturday, 15 June with the participation of a large number of sailing boats, divided into family and racing classes.

INA was, once again, actively involved in the Big Fiumanka and sailed in racing cruisers class on the route Rijeka – Omišalj – Rijeka. Sailing under the guidance of skipper Berislava Vranić, representatives of INA’s management won second place in its class.

In addition to the race, within Fiumanka two fairs were held: Croatian Products Fair, where INA Maziva products for sailors were presented and Fiumanka EU Expo, where the EU member states presented themselves to the citizens of Rijeka and Croatia in order to strengthen cultural and economic relationships. As a representative of INA, Zoltán Áldott, INA’s Management Board President attended fair opening.

Regatta Fiumanka has in the last 14 years become a recognisable sports and tourist symbol of Rijeka and promoter of Croatian nautical tourism. Fiumanka is unique by its approach to the organization and completely free for all participants. INA has long ago recognized value and importance of Fiumanka and supported it for the first time in 2002, and last for years INA was golden sponsor.Documents
