Zagreb, 7 August 2026 – Four of Central Europe’s leading handball clubs, supported by the MOL Group, will come together at the inaugural Fresh Corner Cup, taking place on 13 – 14 August 2026 in Tatabánya, Hungary. Competing for the Fresh Corner Cup trophy, the clubs will lay the foundations for a new regional handball tradition that is set to become an annual event.
The two-day tournament will feature RK Zagreb, Industria Kielce from Poland, RK Celje Pivovarna Laško from Slovenia and MOL Tatabánya KC from Hungary. Three of the four participating clubs will compete in the EHF Champions League next season, while MOL Tatabánya KC will play in the EHF European League, giving fans a unique opportunity to watch some of the strongest teams in the region in action ahead of the 2026/27 season. The participating clubs are supported by companies within the MOL Group, while the tournament takes its name from Fresh Corner, the Group’s unified consumer brand.
Competing for the Fresh Corner Cup trophy, the clubs will also lay the foundations for a new regional handball tradition. The long-term ambition is for the tournament to become the traditional curtain-raiser to the Central European handball season and one of the key events within the MOL Group’s regional sports sponsorship strategy.

Ahead of the start of the tournament, both the players and the coaching staff of the Croatian champions are confident about the upcoming matches.
“The Fresh Corner Cup will be excellent preparation for the new season and our EHF Champions League campaign. We will face very strong opponents, and I believe that with good preparation we can reach the final. I am especially looking forward to meeting Luka Lovre Klarica, who recently moved to Kielce. We are delighted to have received an invitation to such a tournament and cannot wait to step onto the court,” said Filip Glavaš, Croatian national team player and RK Zagreb player.
RK Zagreb head coach Hrvoje Horvat emphasised that the tournament will be a valuable test ahead of the new season.
“If we want to reach the final in Tatabánya, we will have to play our best handball. This tournament will be an extremely valuable test for us ahead of the start of the new season,” said Horvat.
The matches will be broadcast live in Hungary on Sport1, while fans attending the tournament will be able to enjoy a rich Fresh Corner programme and fan activities throughout both days. The semi-finals will be played on 13 August, followed by the third-place match and the final on 14 August at the Multifunctional Arena in Tatabánya.
